PrestaShop module 1.6 to 9.x

Your PrestaShop catalog, the way Google expects it.

Export Google builds the product feeds Google Merchant Center expects straight from your catalog: one feed per country and language pair, kept up to date automatically by CRON. Up to 71 countries, each with its own Google product taxonomy.

01 - Demo

The module at work

Building a feed, the URL to declare in Merchant Center and the full configuration, recorded on a PrestaShop 9 shop.

02 - How it works

How does it work?

From install to the URL you declare in Merchant Center, in five steps.

Pick your countries

Choose your target countries, then per country: language or languages, currency, carrier and taxes.

Map your categories

Your full PrestaShop category tree, include or exclude in one click, Google taxonomy per country with autocomplete.

Generate your feeds

One XML feed per country and language pair, built from the back office, in batches for large catalogs.

Automate with CRON

One CRON URL per feed: your catalog stays current with no manual work, promotions feed included.

Declare the URL

Paste the feed URL into Google Merchant Center as a scheduled fetch data source.

03 - Markets and feeds

What the module does

14 configuration tabs, from country selection to catalog diagnostics.

Product-by-product exclusion
A bulky item, a thin margin or a reference a platform refuses leaves the feed in one click, from the Products tab. It stays active, orderable and visible in its aisles: only the feed drops it. The list is paginated on the server and a whole search is excluded in one action.
71 countries, several languages per country
Every country where Google Shopping is officially available. A single country can carry several languages (Belgium: FR, NL, DE; Switzerland: FR, DE, IT), and each one gets the Google product taxonomy for its own locale.
Google attributes covered
The required attributes (id, title, description, link, image_link, availability, price), the recommended ones (brand, gtin, mpn, google_product_category, condition) and the apparel attributes (gender, age_group, color, size).
Combinations exported
Every combination goes out as a product of its own: color, size, material, pattern. Gender and age group are set per category for apparel items.
Prices, currencies and shipping
Prices with or without tax per country, specific prices and active discounts taken into account, shipping costs per carrier, quantity and lead times. An option forces the currency in the product URL, with id_currency placed first so it stays compatible with common robots.txt rules.
CRON and batch export
Generate manually from the back office or automatically by CRON. The export is paginated into batches, 2000 products per cycle by default and adjustable, to avoid timeouts: batches chain on their own until the catalog is done.
Custom labels
custom_label_0 through custom_label_4 filled from product features, to segment your Google Ads campaigns: season, margin, clearance, best seller.
Gzip compression
An .xml.gz feed, a format Merchant Center reads natively: a file several times lighter, bandwidth saved and faster fetches on large catalogs.
Feed options
Meta title instead of the product name, short or long description, image format, removal of excessive capitals, out-of-stock products, UTM parameters, and a file location and name of your choosing.
Multistore
Configuration, feeds and CRON URLs of their own for every store in your PrestaShop installation. No native PrestaShop table is modified.
Interface in 18 languages
Bulgarian, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Spanish and Swedish: the module's back office speaks the language of whoever is using it.
Built-in FAQ and changelog
42 questions sorted into 9 themes, every answer visible without unfolding, plus a translated changelog. The documentation sits inside the module, where you work.
License and support
The Mediacom87 license is free for anyone who owns a module bought on Addons or PrestatoolBox: it unlocks update notifications and priority support. Feed generation, CRON, the promotions feed and the diagnostics all work without a license.

04 - Promotions

Your discount codes, advertised safely

The promotions feed is a second file, separate from the product feed. Not to be confused with strikethrough prices, which already travel in the product feed.

Separate feed

The file Merchant Center expects

Your discount codes ("20% off with code SUMMER") published in the promotions feed, with an editable public title per language, capped at 60 characters.

Before publishing

Audited cart rules

Every PrestaShop cart rule is reviewed before it is offered. The ones Google cannot advertise safely are blocked, with the reason shown: restricted to one customer, expired, limited to a selection of products, or a discount with no Google equivalent.

On Google's side

Access to request

Publishing promotions requires access to the Merchant Promotions program, which is requested from Google. The module produces the file and its CRON URL either way.

05 - Security and diagnostics

A protected feed, an audited catalog

A published feed is still a static file: what matters is that nobody but Google knows where to find it, and that you know ahead of time what Google would turn down.

Protected feed URL
A secret fingerprint added to the file name makes the URL impossible to guess: a predictable name would let anyone download your references, prices and stock levels. The file stays static, so Google still fetches it at full speed, but its name is unknown.
Key renewal
One action renews the security key, deletes the generated files and invalidates every old URL immediately, product feeds and promotions feeds alike.
Atomic writes
Each export is written to a temporary file and then moved into place in a single operation: Google never picks up a truncated feed, even if it fetches while generation is running. An .htaccess file blocks directory listing in the export folder.
Product image audit
Images below 500x500 pixels are listed ahead of Google's 31 January 2027 deadline. The measurement is taken on the original file you uploaded, not on the theme's thumbnails: that original is the one Google fetches.
Feed quality report
Excluded products are counted by cause, with examples: empty description, no image, empty title, root category. Products exported without a brand are flagged as at risk.
Database index check
The database indexes that speed up the export are checked and can be created in one click, without going through phpMyAdmin.

06 - Comparison

With or without the module?

What changes when the feed is built by the catalog itself.

Discount codesNever declared, or declared without any prior checkSeparate promotions feed, after the cart rules are audited with a blocking reason
Back-office dependenciesWhatever the tool you use brings alongNo calls to any third-party service from the configuration pages

The first export is not the point. A file built once by hand works. What costs you is updating every market daily, and the time spent working out why Merchant Center turned down three hundred products.

The module does not set up your Merchant Center account for you: it produces the files and their URLs, and you declare them once as scheduled fetch data sources.

07 - Beyond Google

The same file, several platforms

The feed follows the Google Merchant Center specification, and that specification is read well beyond Google.

A feed accepted elsewhere

  • Also accepted as an RSS 2.0 source by Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Pinterest, TikTok and Snapchat: the file produced by the module can be declared there as it is
  • TikTok can also import a Google Merchant Center catalogue directly, but only when that catalogue is fed by scheduled fetch, which is exactly how the module publishes
  • Microsoft Advertising uses its own format and offers an import from Merchant Center instead
  • Each platform keeps its own requirements (field lengths, categories, required attributes): the file is accepted, but product rejections have to be checked platform by platform

No external dependency

  • The table library ships inside the module: no more external CDN
  • The back office works without an internet connection and behind a corporate proxy
  • Nothing is requested from a third party from the configuration pages
  • No native PrestaShop table is modified, no account or API key to create
